Infinity Air Group Attends International Aviation Event in Brazil

Organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration, October 24-28, 2022, in São José dos Campos and São Paulo, Brazil.

Infinity Air Group attended the International Aviation Event in São José dos Campos and São Paulo, Brazil, October 24 through 28, 2022, alongside the U.S. Department of Commerce.

During the four-day event, Jimmy Wu met with various Brazilian companies from the civil and defense aviation sectors, including airline operators, aircraft manufacturers, and suppliers.

Brazil’s civil aviation and defense industries are among the most important in the southern hemisphere. The country has been a major importer of aerospace products from the U.S. for many years and is home to Embraer S.A., one of the largest producers of civil aircraft globally.

There is an opportunity to grow the aftermarket repairs and maintenance market in Brazil with initiatives like Infinity Air Group’s rebuild and overhaul programs leveraging used serviceable materials.

According to the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (NCAA), Brazil has a fleet of over 22,000 aircraft, including commercial, business, and experimental aircraft. The average age of these aircraft (40% of the general aviation fleet has an average age of 30 years) plus the slow-down in demand for new aircraft due to the country’s recent political and economic uncertainty has driven demand for maintenance and aftermarket suppliers. The USDC noted that in 2019 the Brazilian aircraft repair and maintenance market was worth an estimated USD 730 million, with a projected annual growth rate of about five percent over the next five years.

To penetrate Brazil’s industry, U.S. companies with already-established relationships in the region have an advantage. Without a well-informed local representative, suppliers may find it challenging to build relationships, get timely information, or access decision-makers without such a connection.

Infinity Air Group is grateful to the USDC and their counterparts in Brazil for facilitating our attendance at this event. The International Aviation Event in Brazil, like other international trade shows and missions, helps small businesses like Infinity Air Group make the connections and gather the market knowledge we need to compete on the global stage.
